Jurisprudence & Background Check
What this step means?
Most regulators require:
-
Jurisprudence (laws, standards, ethics, professional responsibilities in that province/territory)
-
Criminal record check / background suitability requirements.
Important advice (works across Canada)
Order police checks only when your regulator instructs you, and submit them exactly as the regulator requires. Many checks expire, and some must be sent directly to the regulator or completed through an approved vendor.
“Make your file move faster” checklist
Create a single folder (digital + printed) for:
-
Passport/ID + immigration documents (if required for your province)
-
Name change documents (if applicable)
-
All regulator emails/portal messages
-
Test results proof (language, exams)
-
Employer letters/practice history evidence (if requested)
